Massive Frostbite Tower bug.

It appears the new patch has bugged out Frostbite Towers on all maps I have tested in all modes.

They are no longer providing any slow to enemies and the Frosty Power buff to defenses is gone, the freeze duration on enemies is also incredibly short.

Their attack rate is incredibly high so despite only freezing enemies for 1-2 seconds, this happens continuously, the result being bosses are effectively permanently frozen.

I have tested a few maps in both Defense and incursion mode, and Frostbite towers are completely bugged.

Its the second time my Lightning Aura build has been broken since Bling King, and the 3rd time for my Monks in general. Is it just me or do these game breaking issues just happen to monks where builds become utterly trash due to a miss click from development?

So that's what it was. Was doing the forest poachers quest and noticed the bosses getting frozen over and over again. Thought it was pretty strange.

It's funny how you say the Apprentice's Frostbite tower being bugged is a slap in the face to Monks. As if the Apprentice only exists to serve the Monk. It's the Apprentice that gets the short end of the stick here, not the Monk.

Yes that's what we can get from this, hurt feelings. Its a slap in the face to monks, as monk Lightning Auras are garbage without Frostbite Towers. I barely use Frostbite Towers if I am building with an Apprentice for damage, as they cant really benefit from Frosty Power.  For Apprentice they are a nice slow, for Monks they are a critical damage boost and a slow.

However to sate your appetite for an argument, yes its also a slap in the face for apprentices.

that sounds more like an very old frosty bug. Which happened alot a year ago tho.

Monk builds are just the closest to the cliff. When something gets nudged, they tend to be the first off it lol.

Let's ignore the fact that Frostbite Towers are also used to buff Flamethrower, Explosive Trap, Elemental Chaos, Blaze Balloon, Geyser, Oil Geyser, Proton Beam, Training Dummies... Nope, it's just the Monk that gets the bone this time.

haha im clinging on by my finger tips! though this bug is not as bad as the 25% nerf at Bling King launch that stopped me from being able to farm catacombs successfully for the 750 chest or even clear Bling King. The Sky Dragon's Fury was also pretty bad as I was forced to solo Molten Citadel with my Flamethrower Squire that needed 3-4 boulders to per phase to do the 5 million boss damage needed, and that was with Dragolitch :D

This bug is actually helping verses bosses on solo as they are chain stunned, but I have to sit in "empowered" lanes or they would be over run.

On an Incursion now.  It seems like maybe the graphics are broken for them.  They do the spin-up, but I never see the beam coming out and hitting a target.  I can't really tell if things are really being slowed or not.

Jesus christ... you really want an argument don't you. Stating monks have been shafted 3 times, does not mean that only monks were shafted. 

This sentence:

is a personal and subjective statement of what I experienced, hence the words "my Lightning aura build" rather then "the lightning aura build" as well as "my monks in general" rather then "monks in general".
In addition to this, stating Frostbite Towers being broken caused my monk build to be nerfed does not exclude other builds from also being nerfed.

Anyway, please stop picking fights with me, I am doing my best to be civil here, but it seems whenever I open my mouth about any subject I have someone getting upset or passive aggressive with me.

That bug has been around for awhile. 


They also haven't fixed the Dragonfall Sewers bridge bug (it causes enemies to fall through the bridge, into the canal and die instantly, primarily Ogres and bosses).

I'm pretty sure the zimarman kid only posted this to argue with anyone who posted on here lol. wa wa my monk is terrible because apprentice is broken. Can't wait for his reply to me :D Maybe you should learn to use more than 1 character to actually play and maybe you could get past nm3 <3

Put a trap/aura/PB down and inspect it if you have the Frosty Power weapon, you will notice it doesn't change or at best flash changes for a millisecond.
Also if you have 30+% on snowstorm they slow monsters by a very big margin from normal walking speed, this is not happening. Its best observed in a "empowered" lane.

an update.

It appears on the same maps I have had them not work at all and then work. For example: I went afk in round on NM4 incursion Unholy Catacombs and failed the map  as they didn't work, then replayed the map and they then did work.  

I have also had some working and some not working in the same map at the same time.

edit* oh dear, wave 2 and they are not freezing ogre's, so now they are doing absolutely nothing, freezing some mobs but no slow or Frosty Power wave 3, waves 4-7 only feeze worked nothing else, in wave 7 two Ogres were perma-frozen, one ogre was never frozen LOL

its pretty clear they are just being utterly random now on all maps.

thats just so annoying, so basicly people without new heroes like me, are unable to do nm4 incursions, awesome, i quess ill just stop playing untill they fix it ;d

they are still possible, just frustrating and harder then before. At least thats my experience with my LA build.

I cleared nm4 chrome enemies 10 times last night without using frostbites and I don't have an abyss lord, EV, or lavamancer. I ony failed it one time and that's because I tried to do a wall-less build.

Other builds are possible without frosty or any new heroes. The 4 starting heroes are all really strong now.

I am tempted to say "by buildingmore then just walls", but then i get the feeling you actually can do that with walls only too and a dps too :_D.

Like Hom-Sha said it is definitiv possible, but i don't know what you have or not have. Build serenity, build pdt, build cannons, ballista earth towers, buff them up with boost aura maybe. Use cc from geyser + la. There are alot of ways.

You also could try to strengthen the lanes where not the bombers come from and dps mainly the bomber lane too.

And if they massacre your walls, just build more walls :d.

Another update.

It is possible this bug is connected to using sky Guard Towers, after some testing they seemed to be "working" when not using Sky Guard Towers. However they still had some issues targetting, possibly due to targeting low health monsters and the Frosty Power effect seemed to occur a lot less often then normal.

Needs more testing to confirm.

I can confirm that is not true. When I tried chrome enemies incursion i did not build sky guards and frostbites would not work on that map. When I tried dragonfall bazaar I did build sky guards and the frostbites worked just fine.
