defence power pet

my pet has 2 defence power on it how is that possible and if it is why dose only one of it work. if not why make it to wwhere it waste my money by adding me a second defence power for a reroll

only 1 stat is applied - second is useless

Is there a source on this?  I have a pet with double hero power and notice it increases on my characters stat sheet by more than the total of the amounts listed on the pet.

Two identical stats, do NOT stack. You can test this yourself.

Just remember (most people don't understand the character stat sheet) that each 1 point does not equal 1 point on the character sheet.

Stats scale based on your current stats, and have diminishing returns.

So for example, +1 hero attack power might grant you +4 hero attack on your character sheet. If you have high attack, it might be less like 2-3, if you are on a builder character +1 attack might give you a huge amount like +30.

So when you equip a pet with +100, twice, you might look at your character sheet and see +400 (when you think it should be +200) - but in reality, you are ONLY getting the one +100 (but each 1 point = +4)

You can test this with your armor. Unequip a piece of armor with say, +100 of one stat. You'll see your character sheet will drop by much more than just 100 points. This will give you an idea of the multiplier.
