What is the Loot Test?

The Loot Test is a special one-off test. We are making changes to how loot is calculated, how loot stats work with passives, and loot drop rate. As loot in Dungeon Defenders II is a fundamental aspect of the game, we wanted to ensure the players, you guys, are on board and happy with these changes.

So the Loot Test is an opportunity to get a sneak peak at these changes. An opportunity to tell us what you think of the changes and an opportunity for us to make additional changes if that how the community feels and wants.

How do I test?

After filling out the form, we will email you when you are ready to go - we need to do some prep work behind the scenes to make your new account ready.

What about my Heroes? Do we have to start over?

For this test, we will give a selection of heroes at level 30 and at level 50 with moderate gear. These characters and gear should be enough for you to start tackling End Game and Nightmare I. For campaign purposes, we would like you to create new characters.

How do I give feedback?

We will send out a survey to the email you give in the sign up form. Over the course of the test, we expect to send 3 surveys, asking about the main modes of the game and your experiences and thoughts about the loot in each of these modes. We don't expect everyone to be able to play everything, but just play as much as you can!

How long will the Loot Test last?

We're looking to run the test for about a week, maybe more, maybe less. When you are given access, you can play any time, day or night.

Can we talk about the Loot Test?

Sure! We have even set up a special forum section for the Loot Test. Outside of the surveys, feel free to discuss and talk with other players about the Loot Test.

I have a problem, how do I get help?

Make a thread here in the Loot Test section of the forum and ask away!

I was so excited to get started on the loot test I failed to read all the instructions....

I submitted my current account with over 900 hours instead of a new steam account.

I submitted a ticket and I stopped playing so I don't make the issue worse.

any advice?

wait, so if we get accepted, does that mean all our gear(including pets) and characters will be gone? i highly doubt it, but im just curious ^^;

all my characters at the moment are level 50 and can solo nm3 (can kinda do 2 waves of nm4 but walls suck :c)

None of your normal characters will be impacted in any way.

The gear test is performed on the 'New' account you provided, and it will be prestocked with characters and equipment (and the scavenger is holding several pets hostage, so go rescue them!)

Will there be a specific start/finish date that we can look forward to?

You will be able to test as soon as you receive your acceptance email.

We have no fixed end date yet, but we will make everyone aware of it when we decide upon it. We're looking at about a week's worth of testing.

I can only login to the test servers but not to the normal ones (same error).

I don't know if its a bug, but i can see the monthly mission from december.

Did you guys remember to switch to the other mode in the game properties? I mean, from beta to normal and from normal to beta?

sure, i also tried to reinstall the game, and also to verify the integrity of game cache, still doesnt work. i'll just play on the testserver and dont finish the monthly:(

how do you select the test servers?

So just like someone before, I didn't read that I was suppose to make a new steam account in order to play the loot test and lost my account with 179 hours on it. If I email Dani.moor, will I be able to get my account back? I know I should have read clearly and this 100% my mistake.

for those who got into the loot testing, has anyone else been having problems with error 5008?

Are they letting people in in waves or are they only accepting a certain amount? I followed all the instructions but haven't received an e-mail yet...

Is there a way to swap between the builds (normal / loot-test) without downloading the changes all over again?

Kind off stupid when you want to play loot-test inbetween your normal sessions but it wants you to download stuff for like 10 minutes^^
