Barlosk1 0 Posted November 13, 2015 Idea OverviewThe scavenger as it works now does not make sense. A scavenger normally scavenges loot that has been left behind, then he doesn't give it away but he sells it to make a profit. The idea is to change the scavenger to a more realistic one.Changes To The ScavengerCollects all unclaimed loot that has not been physically picked up or auto collected by the end of the build phase.Gives a Notification of how many items the scavenger collected after every collection round. When physically picking up an item and your bags are full or the filter for that item is not available in a bag, the scavenger does NOT take the item instead an error notification is displayed and the item is left on the ground to be auto collected by the scavenger during his collection round.2 tabs will be added along the top of the scavenger window, the default tab being named "Shop", and the other being named "Purchased".The "Shop" tab would be the scavenger's inventory of all the collected loot, has unlimited storage space, which is available for purchase at double the listed sell price via a "Buy" button, that works similar to the "Sell" button in your hero's inventory.Once the purchase has been confirmed you are automatically transferred to the "Purchased" tab where you can move the items into your inventory via a "Claim All" button, which would put all the items in the appropriate filtered bag automatically, or by clicking and dragging. The item expiration limit needs to be changed to 30 Min., starting from when you return to the tavern, so that the player has time to search the shop.Reasons Why These Changes Need To HappenThe scavenger is currently only used as an extra unlimited bag to prevent people from running out of space in their inventory. While it is a guard for loosing out on loot you may want to use, most of the loot is just taken and sold like a normal bag.Making his inventory available for purchase instead provides that same guard for loosing out on items you want to use, and removes the ability for using him as an extra bag.Not having the option to use the scavenger as an extra bag would bring in more money to the developers who the sell bags, which in turn would give them a bigger budget to improve the game in other ways. Barlosk1 0 Posted November 13, 2015 If you like this idea, it would work best to coincide with my other idea "Auto Loot Rework" available here https://dungeondefenders.com/2/topic/128793/auto-loot-rework
NasiPuti 0 Posted November 14, 2015 No, just no. The Scavernger is a bandaid fix for the current issue that is the loot system. Under no circumstance should players be further punished for a difficult to manage inventory and drop system.Whilst you idea is cute and has a nice back story it does not fit the intended purpose of the scavenger: to protect players from losing out on loot. The loot as it is now is just a way to make some coin, as 99% of the items picked up are all sold. If you want more loot to sell you need to sell during the build phase or buy more bags. loot that is picked up by the scavenger should not be used as an extra bag to sell more items, it should be used to not miss out on items you actually need to use. JellySupreme 0 Posted November 15, 2015 Your idea would make this game P2W. Since players with 4 bags get considerably less gold. Or do you belive that other 3 players with 12-16 bags wouldn t just hit G after the repairs/upgraids. Not to mention auto collect collects items on the start of the turn and not in the end. Leaving you with only 30 seconds to get all items and sell them. You said "If you want more loot to sell you need to sell during the build phase or buy more bags." This game is intended to be F2P not P2W.

If you had 4 bags and filled them up every match, like I did before having bag filters, and after every match you replaced every single item on your hero that would mean 96% of the items are useless, sold to make more room for more items. The fact is though, the percentage should be higher because even at the beginning, and especially mid to high level heroes, you are rarely going to replace every item you have in 1 match. Although if you dedicate 1 of your bags to pet ingredients, pet food, and eggs like I do than the math still indicates that 94% of your items are still being sold.@JellySupreme quote:Your idea would make this game P2W. Auto loot is at the end of the round, when all players click ready, the round ends auto loot is collected and the next round begins. If auto loot was at the beginning of the round there would not be any auto loot for the last round. Another thing is, the in coin you make has little to do with how skilled you are in the game. It wouldn't make it p2w just because you make less gold than people who pay to sell more items. your heroes power has nothing to do with the amount of money you have, it has everything to do with luck in getting good items, and this idea doesn't change that at all. And yes you can actually sell a lot during the build phase and that is after upgrading towers, I sometimes go through and sell a whole bag of items, you just need to know what you're looking for.
