Great Content, Poorly Executed.

PATCH DAY HYPE! ... Well at least for the casuals.

As a player that use to play 50+ hours a week and would love to continue playing this game and getting new content to enjoy, I feel let down, beaten, and insulted.

The Good

2 new maps -

LOVE THEM! omg, these maps are beautiful, the art team never fails, and the maps couldn't look any better. The drop chance seems right with there being a boss mob every wave, sometimes 2-3 bosses a wave making the loot drop chance here feel like the best in the game.

8 new Challenges -

This is great, Challenges for players gives them something to do other than the normal "Gotta do my daily today".

4 new DPS weapons -

Awesome, and they look amazing.

Auto-Collect Filters -

Nice, nice. Glad to see the bags are still being worked on and improved.

Tavern Decorations -

Art team = Success

Dark Arts Apprentice -

Success, beautiful skin.

The Bad

2 new maps -

The lanes are kinda bland, nothing new/unique really offered or shown with this level design. Also, I didn't get even 1 legendary from the maps. (only played each 1 time.) But after killing 9+ minibosses/bosses per map I felt owed a legendary or 2.

8 new Challenges -

The Challenges while nice, are easy, and not too Challenging.

4 new DPS weapons -

Drop rate... and with them only being iPWR 550, I don't see them being anywhere near as good as the current NM4 content.

Trick or Treats -

To me the Tricks feel more rewarding than the Treats. Trick - You get to fight a new boss, and still get loot from the boss. It's probably the same roll chance as the Treat, but you get the added benefit of fighting a new mob, which is fun and rewarding... like a Treat.

Difficulty -

I saved the worst for last. This is the biggest fail I've seen in a while. New event, but it's not suited for NM4 Players... No words.

I feel bad, I just want Trendy to succeed and make right decisions, but... they aren't.

Not seeing how not having a NM4 difficulty is a failure. This is a Halloween event and it's been put at a difficulty where the majority of players can partake in it. It's not for farming endgame gear.

Holidays events in gaming are aimed at the majority of the players and not gated off by difficulty which is fantastic!

However Trendy might see all these feedback threads about no NM4 difficulty and add that difficulty via a patch and perhaps future holiday events will automatically contain all difficulty modes.

Trendy have already confirmed that a NM4 difficulty will be included in this Thursdays patch.

It's meat for endgame players such as yourself, but it doesn't count towards any of the challenges. So in short they did an awesome job on this years event. It could of been much, much worse.

From memory, isn't the only challenge affected the complete each Map in each difficulty...

That's just RNG being RNG... Or perhaps there is something spooky going on.

Regardless of NM4 difficulty or not Trendy have done a wonderful job with the event. NM4 is just a bonus but a welcomed one.

I got two of the leg weapons in my first run on the second hardest difficulty and haven't seen once since as I've played through for the do every level challenge

There is a knack to it you can't brute force it. I think the event is a great success and pitched just right for all the non-legacy wielding power gamers.

Depending on how you see this event. If you just see it as a festive event for the mood and having a good time, I can somewhat understand if people do not care about no NM4 difficulty.

If you on the other hand play this as your main game, and want to do all the content and  strive to get the most out of your chars. Not being able to progress within this new content, is a punch in the face. Players who belong to this category dont gain much or any replayablity from a few pumpkins.

But from my point of view all is good, Trendy have responded and put in the hours to make everyone happy and have a briliant festive season in DD2. I just hope they have learned from this, and will continue to push out content for the new players but also for the veterans. Replayability is key for a game to last :)

Im a full geared nm4 player and i was hyped and i still am, cause we know the nm4 maps will be available for the spooky maps in the future. But even without the nm4 difficulty i enjoy playing these maps and collecting all those sweet achievements even tho they are easy to get and i will my awesome Ghost of Title. sadly no nm4 gear drops yet but thats fine for me. A great event for the starting or gearing up player. Im sure this will help people to get into nm3-4 much easier. And really nm4 spooky everyone would join that sh!t wouldnt even be funny :D. Keep it up Trendy
