Known Issue: Monthly Mission Bug & Reward Incoming [10/15/15]

Greetings Defenders,

Right now there is a bug that will reset your monthly mission quest upon random loading of a Social Tavern. We're actively working on fixing this bug, but it's a nasty one that's persisted for a while now. Before today's patch this bug was extremely rare, but something about today's patch has increased the bug's velocity significantly. Luckily, with the influx of reports coming in, we'll probably be able to fix it once and for all soon (TM).

In the meantime, everyone who has unlocked the October Monthly Mission before October 27th 12:00 AM EDT will receive the monthly pet, Bearkira, in their mailbox with the release of Ascension: Part II. We will also be significantly lowering the requirements of the monthly mission once we fix the bug, so you have an additional opportunity to gain the pet and the token rewards before the end of the month.

TL;DR:

• Everyone who unlocks the October Monthly Mission before October 27th 12:00 AM EDT will receive the monthly pet, Bearkira, in their mailbox with the release of Ascension: Part II.
• Once we fix the bug, we'll be significantly lowering the requirements of the monthly mission, so you'll have an additional opportunity to gain the pet and the token rewards before the end of the month. 
  

Can you clarify what you mean by unlocking the October Monthly MIssion?

Do you mean if we started it at all? Do you mean if we finished it? 

I only had 3 skeleton boss kills left, everything else was done. I am scared I won't be able to get the pet.

Note that I am currently at work so I don't know if mine has reset yet.

Will the compensation be just the pet or also include tokens?

Does this include other rewards from the monthly ? (Especially tokens) 

Got pretty far on the monthly, would suck to have it reset and only recieve the pet when i'm in dire need of the tokens. And about being able to complete it towards the end of the month, i've got a busy schedule with exams and the likes in school so might not be able to play at that point. (Thus the question)

Answers:

1. Unlocking the mission, is just another way of saying you've beaten the campaign (Betsy) and can complete Monthly Missions now. Sorry for the confusion. So @[FF'A] Anomaly, you'll certainly get it!
   
2. Everyone who has unlocked Monthly Missions will get the pet, Bearkira. Once we fix the bug, it will be significantly easier to get the tokens and the pet again, with the reduced mission requirements. Additionally, HINT: The Grave Danger Event with Ascension: Part II is gonna help too ;).

Question: Can this be avoided by restricting oneself to Private Taverns until the mission is completed?

Question: If so, does completing the mission via Private taverns currently unlock the pet and tokens and gold?

Thank you for the quick reply! That sums up exactly what I wanted to know. 

• Is the mailbox code for just the pet, or for the title and tokens as well?
• When you say you're lowering the requirements after you fix the bug, is that applicable to this month or for subsequent months?
• With the mailbox code and reset, is it possible to then get two bearkiras? Or, for those who already completed the monthly, can they potentially get three bearkiras?

Lost all progress... And have no dailies.      Anyone else missing their dailies?

This just hit me was so close to being done, not as worried about the pet as the tokens.  I hope it is a ton easier because no way I will be able to complete everything for the tokens in time, sounds like the pet is not a big deal because if you get the monthly mission as an option they are giving the pet to you because of the bug.

Also with no ETA on the fix the days are ticking down for the tokens, hopefully the they can find and fix today.

Does the lowered requirments also count for the people it didn't restart for? and if you lower it to something i already have done, will i just complete it instantly?

 

Well luckily I had completed it, and am curious if I complete the revised version do i get that nice stack of wyvern tokens, wouldn't mind getting an Itsy Betsy if this is the case.

For pinpoint clarity; anyone who has not lost the quest and completes it by the 27th gets given the pet through the mailbox, whilst everyone who did gets a mini-quest on the 27th patch, right?

I was 2/3rds into the Skelington quest and had 1 Incursion left before mine disappeared so hopefully the mini-quest's not too much trouble.

Basically as long as you finished the campaign (defeating betsy and etc) before the 27th you will receive the monthly PET only. 

When part 2 of the new patch rolls out, the current monthly quest requirements will be reduced, and the patch will help you finish the challenging part (the skeleton bosses, it's Halloween. Boo). Finishing the reduced version of the monthly quest is for the TOKENS and etc, not another pet.

Just the pet based on the way it reads.  think of it like a oops gift.  They are lower the requirements just for this month nothing anywhere says they are going to suddenly nerf monthlys.  Only this one so people can go and do it if they wanted the tokens and title.  As for the third one I have no clue.  If i was a betting man i would say yeah some people would be able to try for a third as the system seems to have forgotten if you have done it or not.

After the patch I logged in today to find that not only has my monthly mission been reset, but the two daily missions I had been saving to finish tonight have been removed completely! (Not reset like the monthly one, just gone. :( ) Was this a side-effect of whatever bug caused the monthlies to be reset?

Pretty upset that I was only 9 skeles away from finishing and mine got reset.  Now i'm going to have to do it again and even at your 'reduced' totals it's still going to take me a lot longer than it would have to get those last 9 skeletons.

Both the "bug compensation" and the rewards for completing the quest leave out the title.  Will we still be able to receive this, and how?

I was also 10 skeles from finishing... the pet is nice and all.. but eugh.  yeah.  no amount of "reduced requirements" is gonna save it from being an extra grind.

Everyone needs to stop complaining and re-read the follow-up post in this thread by [[14,users]].

If you read it carefully, it says quite simply that if you can see the Monthly quest in your quest window, you're already going to earn the pet.  Only the tokens and title wouldn't be automatically given, but they're going to be offered at a highly reduced rate so you can finish it in at most all of the 4 days left in the month plus some normal play time until then.

Does this suck if you were very close? Yes. Is this an amazing way for them to fix the problem to take care of everyone regardless? Yes.

So please, give them a break when they're already doing a lot to take care of us all in what is as advertised, a pre-release Alpha game.

SAME lol. I've been just a few tokens short of my goal (60) for the past few days. I've been grudgingly getting small token dailies and am just one token away. Guess I'll have to wait another day D: 

Gah I was so close to. I had all but the skeleton part done. I hope the fix won't be on the 27th or we'll have to grind it out on the last few days.
