Builds for the ps4 version?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, been playing a while and I'm quite confused.  Nothing seems to be working all that well.  I keep joining random missions with players, and having issues soloing certain maps because the entire build system seems broken.  I know I can't be the only one and I'm sure there are players out there that have gotten this thing down.

The builds I've tried goes as follows:

1. Defense health (primary) - Towers still die very very fast, as well as barriers I use to protect towers/block paths/choke enemy ranks.  Hero does very little damage to the point where it seems pointless to even try to help out towers.  Towers do very little damage.

2. Hero damage (primary)/Ability damage (Secondary) - Towers are completely useless.  Die way too fast, deal very low damage.  Hero damage is pretty nice, but still not enough to stem the tide of waves of powerful enemies.  Often times get caught up on high M. def enemies.  Once they inevitably make it to the towers, the towers die way too fast.  As far as ability damage is concerned, it seems useless even when stacked as a secondary stat.  Can't use too many attacks because of cooldown/low mana pool.  The damage itself isn't very high, so tornado is the only skill that seems worth while to use because the best thing it does is damage them a tiny bit while halting their progression.  Mana bomb and the square attack are absolutely useless.

3. Defense power (primary)/Defense health (Secondary) - Hero back to dealing laughable damage, even to grunts.  Virtually unable to do anything against bosses, mini bosses or monsters with a decent amount of M. def.  Towers STILL die fast, and deal very low damage.

I know we'll get updates in the future to address most of the problems this game has, as PC players seem to have a much better and balanced experience overall....but it could be a while before we see a patch like that hit ps4, and I'm currently trying to get my apprentice to 26 from 24, and trying to get at least a warrior to 26 for the skin.

What are you guys using?  What is working well for you?  As for me, I've spent thousands and thousands of gold trying to level all this stuff up to get a great build going and I'm lost.

Ya i know that, i was on ps3 a hardcore DD1 player(farmed 3x giraffes each day :D), nothing be the same here, but what i figure out is. use only barracks and canons from squire.. rest is really useless...

my stats on squire are (lv 25)

Tower Health: 322

Tower Power: 861

Tower Speed: 768..

I can tell you right now, some combinations are broken.

It takes a while to learn what does what best.  And towers are OP lol.

But you can also focus on hero damage and be successful.

Make sure you level up other classes.  I leveled mine up in pairs.  They work synergistically.  If you only play one class, you're going to have a rough time unless you work together with friends in a party.

My strongest tower combo does 29k dps.  That's not a typo.

I'll let you figure that one out ;)

I main mostly the apprentice and nothing the apprentice has with any build is useful.

Don't get too locked in on it atm.  Just enjoy the game for what it is.  If we follow the path the PC has taken everything is going to get a huge revamp and tower speed will be completely removed from gear other than being able to modify it via skill spheres.  Speed had towers so broke it wasn't even funny.

It's completely broken though, that's why I'm asking for people's builds.  No matter what two stats I stack, no stat really becomes too overly useful.

I'm not asking to make me as overpowered as possible, but having a setup that doesn't get destroyed every round would be nice.  I've tooled around with many things, and I'm going to go ahead and think you've been stacking tower power/speed...

I did decide to level another class and it is fun, as well as useful.  I used to get caught up on enemies that had high m.def but they aren't too much of a hastle anymore.  Meanwhile my mage has okay damage but my warrior has absolute dog crud damage.

I know.  I know better than to get attached to anything in this game at the moment.  I'm trying to unlock the exclusive wipeaggedon skins for classes I know I'll play in the future.  But you can't deny, having a build that actually works makes the short grind from 20-25 a lot easier.  It's much faster if you have successful games as opposed to all of them failing.

Huntress traps plus monk auras are very Good. The defenses synergize with one another. Add walls and a few cannons and u will start winning. Don't listen to people that say everything but squire towers work. They are dead wrong. DD2 has different tower mechanics. If u learn to use them u can make some pretty fun builds.  If u r lookin for some help hit me up on psn Match_98

For myself I have found it more challenging to find where all the stats are and to compare quickly.   I like the way the forge looked better in the first game, but perhaps I just need to get used to the new look.  Does anyone have screen shorts on how they have been building?

I've been using an apprentice and squire combo and it's working pretty dang well.  I put up apprentice barriers, two flame towers, and one long range tower on apprentice, switch to squire and have one cannon and one ballista.

Doing this, I haven't had any issues with people breaking through my defenses so long as I keep them maintained properly with repairs and upgrades.

To further this combo, I was thinking of either going with huntress as a third character for traps to either help suspend enemies in the air while my towers destroy them, or deal  massive damage once they get to my towers.

Then I thought about monk, and he has the buff aura for towers so I'm not quite sure lol.
