Is there going to be a wipeageddon on PS4?

Is everything going to be reset before the next patch like it was on pc and the title screen says? Or is that message just something that got looked over? 

If so, approximately how long do we have before it happens?

I would assume it will be getting wiped like it says due to the fact that the update after the one its on was quite a significant change to the games structure, as to when that we will have to wait until they tell us.

Definitely will be. And you get rewards for having your characters past a certain level when they wipe them.

Hopefully it's not too soon, just  started my character launch day and already news of a wipe lol.

Which then poses the question why did they choose to pick pets and dragons patch over loot and survive?

Not the best idea to wipe progress of a new fan base, when they could of just started you with the rewards of wipeaggedon in the first place and started with loot and survive. Not to mention the more they wait to patch loot and survive into the PS4 version the more upset people will be. Just because they would have invested more time into farming gear which isn't going to matter.

It's why atm I'm only after loot which is adequate to clear levels. After wipegeddon is when I will care about gearing up.

From what I have seen it sounds like yes it is refunded back into your account to spend again. So you dont get a cash refund or anything, the gems are just available to spend for a second time.

What about costumes?  If I unlock certain costume pieces will it matter?

I am just trying to get all characters to level 25 before the wipe for the unique costumes unlocks. Got my sorcerer to 25, will get the other three classes this weekend.

whats about the wipe? why they do that, also on it to max my heros, problem is i get unique costume on US but actually im from EU, buy in few days when its online in EU store i will go to EU, DAAAAAAMN

I'm sure you'll be fine.  Hopefully you can afford to buy the game twice, lol.  I doubt well see a wipe soon.  But once it hits, say goodbye to everything.

You just seem angy. New fan base? I think the vast majority people here are DD1 fans who have been waiting eagerly for DD2. I'm thinking not many people will be upset. A wipe is expected from alphas and betas. It's going to happen and will happen more than once. After loot and survive I expect it will happen again. The game is far from being complete. People will be angry no matter what. If they didn't release the alpha when they did people would be angry. They release a product where they've stamped "buggy pre-alpha" all over it and people are angry. It was clear they weren't releasing the PC counterpart. You knew this when buying into the game, why exactly are you, erm people, angry?

LMFAO, I'm no where a new player and I knew what I was buying, I'm not angry I was just making a point that to have a version released which will be wiped next update is an odd choice. What would of made more sense is releasing a more up to date build which came after wipeaggedon for the PS4.

Nope. To this day no wipe is planned and they won't do one unless it's critical. So all the way up to Ascension we have no wipe. They may reroll gear, but I don't seem them doing another full wipe.

Also for the record I would of been far happier if the PS4 started on loot and survive then Pets and Dragons. To me it would of made more sense. No one expected the PS4 version to come out so soon, it was a surprise. So no time for anyone to be angry.

I personally hope the wipe comes soon.  I'm close to all level 25's so the thought of grinding any further doesn't entice me to play anymore.

At no point in my post did I say you were new. What exactly were you reading my friend? The points you are trying to make don't take into account the reality of the video game development world. As stated elsewhere in this forum by the devs, the PC version of the game will not just magically port itself to another system when a player feels like it's what should be. It takes a lot of time and effort to convert PC systems to console. You trying to tell them what's smart for them to do is like me going into ANY business establishment and trying to tell them how to conduct their business. Unwise, especially when you have no idea what is involved in it and what went into the decisions that have been made. It definitely was not a knee-jerk "let's just release it now just because" type of thing.

Now this was recently mentioned for the PC version for those attuned to reading:

"When we move into Open Alpha, there will be no more full wipes, but we may still have limited resets/rerolls depending on what we add or change to the game."

Firstly that is the PC version which is a completely separate entity. Just because something is a certain way there doesn't mean it will be the same on PS4. Secondly, I know for myself, if they "reset" my characters, that might as well be a wipe, although I am aware they are not the same thing. "Reroll" my awesome gear and and now it's not so awesome? Similar concept.

Seeings how you are not a DD2 developer, you really can't say what they will or will not do. Furthermore, I guess it would be out of the question for anything devs say to ever change, because that's never happened before in video game development. Not ever. Unheard of.

Yes it would have been better for us if the game was released less broken and with the better updates, but I personally am just happy to get a chance to play it, and be on the ground floor of PS4 development where my feedback has a chance to influence the game and make it better. I'd rather be with that without. Assist with what is rather than complain about what is not.

Me too.  I want the goodies that we get for getting to level 25.  I have 1 at 25 but I was out of town this  past weekend and will be the next 2 weekends so I have been playing 1 hour here, 30 min there too get in anything.

Ok first off the PS4 version had to start some where and the content after a wipe would of been smarter, especially with how long a content update takes to through the certification process forf the PS4. I get why they started there, so you can experience the wipe and gain the exclusives out of it. However for a debut to a new game for alot of people that's not going to sit well when the wipe comes and the time they invested is deleted. If you don't follow this game, boy are you in for a surprise.

As for the PC to PS4 conversion, I'm sorry but you are wrong. PS4 has a similar architecture to PC, so it's alot easier to develop for then it was for the PS3. Again it's not the time frame of adding the content to the PS4 version it's the whole certification BS they need to go through to get the update out. If they were worlds apart they wouldn't be developing a PS4 version period.

The PS4 is going to follow the PC version content to the letter, that much is obvious. The only difference on the PS4 version is that we have split screen and controller support atm. Now how much content the PS4 gets in the first update is remained to be seen.

Now if you are naive to believe that you are going to have a massive influence on the PS4 version to make it night and day different to the PC version then that's cool, but that's not the way it's going to happen. TE want your feedback and the only thing you are contributing to change the game is the controller support configuration and stability/bugs.

Other features have been addressed by the PC community already as this isn't the first time it's been available for people to play in pre-alpha form.

I too am happy playing this game with friends atm, however I know the wipe is coming, so I'm not going to be annoyed or shocked by all my data wiped off, I just feel sorry for the people who have no idea what's coming.

I hope not. It haven't even been released in Europe yet. I'd like to level my all classes to 25 myself, but we'll see if thats possible when the game comes to Europe. I think it's a bit unfair if the wipe happends days after EU release, since you guys have already got 8 days headstart. (Of course i can buy the extra gems to get costumes, but it's not about the money, it's about doing whats fair.)

this exactly, i have a hard time and fight my self when i load this game now. Sometimes, i load it, get into my private tavern and quit.

I second this, I have one at 25 and 2 closing in on it. My Apprentice is the only lagger and he will be 25 within the next few days.

Time to finish grinding, and then redo all of it once the wipe hits lol!!

I'm actually looking forward to it, Since there will be so much changing it won't (I hope!) be a chore.
