Angelatic-Birdy 0 Posted September 7, 2015 What should the strength and weaknesses be for the squire wallAnd what should the strength and weaknesses be for the apprentice walls? At the moment the squire wall crushes the apprentice wall without any troubleWhat could be done to make both appealing in the right circumcises? Was thinking of what could be done but except for one idea my mind is blank..the apprentice is a man of the arcane The apprentice wall is magic (more magical then the squire wall) So it would be cool if the apprentice wall could expand its size horizontally or vertically by MAGIC!! SactoDoug 0 Posted September 7, 2015 In DD1, the apprentice wall removed elemental affinity. They should remove monster bonuses in DD2.Also, there is a 3rd wall or at least I consider it a wall: the training dummy. They need to increase the damage done by training dummies. They don't do enough damage or take enough aggro. While they are at it, why is does the game track damage done by the spiked blockade but not the training dummy? If I had my way, the "base" wall would be the spiked blockade. The arcane wall and training dummies would have at least 80% of the hps as the spiked blockade.

Meme Machine 0 Posted September 7, 2015 Why not make the apprentice wall be a ranged reflector instead? So we have a way to help against Javelin or Dragons.
Andurian 0 Posted September 7, 2015 The base Arcane Barrier is worse than the Spiked Blockade. Pretty much all the way around.Add to that the Hearty passive used in *every* endgame, and there is no reason at all to play the Arcane Barrier.Perhaps the Arcane Barrier could reflect javelins and fireballs. Would be cool if we could fuse walls apprentice walls for the reflecting Squire wall for the tankingSquire dummy for the extra aggro!! :Dbut I'm just gonna keep that dream inside my daydream becauseTrendy will never release that :PFusion hah! Bob Loblaw |Äpp|* 0 Posted September 7, 2015 I always felt the apprentice walls should have something to do with the physical resist lanes and the squire the same for the magic resist lanes. Maybe give them equal baseline stats, and have the squire walls deal more damage to magic resist and app walls deal more damage to physical resist lanes. Who is building walls for the damage they output though? If anything they should gain more health when used in specific lanes.
Bob Loblaw |Äpp|* 0 Posted September 7, 2015 I'm not saying build them just for damage purposes, just that the damage should be higher in that scenario. I definitely agree that they should have more health like you said.

Giving something more health decided by its position on the map is a weird mechanic. Just have the arcane barrier have some sort of magic resistance/mitigation and the blockade physical. And i do enjoy the damage that walls put out. With the vengeance large sphere for squire and blockade boom for app, they put out a decent amount of damage. Especially when affected by frostfire buff. chesticles 0 Posted September 7, 2015 I think the reverse: I think squire should have extra phy resist walls and apprentice have extra mag resist walls.Keep baseline just add bonus

Vice versa for the app walls.

Second, even if you made Squire and Apprentice walls equal in stats, but specializing in physical vs magic, nobody would still use the Apprentice walls, because the Hearty bonus is so high on the Squire wall. Which is why I used the word "increased" when I said increased physical damage. The title of the thread is ideas for the current walls we have. My idea was increased damage, and I would like to see the Hearty blockade apply to magic barriers as well. Obviously no one cares about the current damage of walls, because it isn't there. mokn 0 Posted September 7, 2015 The mage walls also have very little threat and creeps will often walk through them or around them, i found them useless even before hearty walls.
