Impossible to play, either forever loading black screen or forever joining at war table.

as the title says, for me its impossible to play, i was in the game, when i tried to join to a game, i got the forever joining thing, wich only i can only "fix" by leaving the tav and rejoin, wich now its imposible cuz of the blak screen. 

so i guess no chance for me to try the "event" :(

 the only way i "found" is, if you get the black screen, dont wait, restart and try again till you get the regular loading screen, i just try up to 4 times, if it doesnt load i just quit and try hours later. 

As someone said, joining to a friend already in game, works better to avoid the black screen. 

^ well there are more and more of us now so I have to imagine this is a hot button for a hot fix :-(

Seems this is an ongoing bug that really needs to get squashed PDQ!  I'm almost to the point now where if after a couple tries I can't get past the black screen, I just give up for the day.

Are you hearing us Devs???  This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed NOW!

Let's add another one to the list!  If it doesn't work after 3 tries I stop trying for the day.  So I'm giving up for today, hopefully it'll work tomorrow.        -_-

Same thing here. I have to end the task at the task manager and keep trying. Sometimes it loads. Then I got stuck at the war table. With some luck we will be able to enjoy some of the event :(

I just submitted a bug report for this as well.

I've been encountering the black screen of doom very frequently as of late. Not sure if it's tied to Windows 10 or not.

I was fine yesterday, now today I cant even get into the game.

I too cannot get past the black loading screen. 

I was able to fix this once by going into the options and using the default settings. But now it seems that even that will not work. I hope a fix comes out before the weekend event is over.

Same here. I haaaaaaaate this bugs that  makes the game impossible to play when i want to! its very frustrating.

Tried getting on last night. Infinite black screen to try and enter social tavern (I assume) and now this morning, the same thing. Tried validating steam cache. Tried every internet fix in the book, and I am about to unplug computer and plug it back in, cuz I cant think of anything else

From what I can tell, it's an issue with loading into the tavern.  Once you get it, and are finally able to play, Don't leave to the tavern or you risk it bugging out.  Verifying integrity of game cache through steam does help, but it's not a 100% fix. it will let you get into the social tavern, if you wanna play, open private, select your map, and don't leave the map.  111 hours so far and I'm actually getting angry at the thing because I want to play and I can't get in.

Must have had to exit out and back in 30 times already today.  Had to shut my steam friends list off because my friends are getting annoyed with the pop up of me playing dd2.

This has been happening over the last week, but holly crap yesterday was re*** fought it all day.  Then last night happened again and I haven't been able to get in since I have tired everything I have read online.  Full screen, windows, cache, even modifying .ini file after cache nothing is working.  Guess we all need to learn our lesson from this and stop support developers with pre alpha, alpha or beta games.  I understand it is in pre alpha but man I can deal with bugged mobs and so forth but not being able to even get into the game now you think this is something that would be a high priority on a bug list or fix it list.

Same, I tried 5 times last night and eventually got in. I also verified the game cache in Steam which may or may not have helped.

yep same problem here i haven't had the issue until the update last night. and yep after 4-5 tries to get back in i quit . it really sucks when there is an event being held and you cant play the dam thing

Yup, never-ending black loading screen...disappointing since weekends are my only time to work to get that monthly mission done. Maybe that can be extended through September, but this needs to be fixed. Thanks Trendy! We know you are working hard!

I too am having this issue. It's taking me more than 10 retries each time to get passed the first loading screen. But now I just give up if it doesn't start after 3 tries. Please fix this issue, I only have so many days-off and I would like to at least play a bit.

Best work-around at the moment is to join someone whose already in game.
