It's all preference, every hero brings something different to the table.

Try out all the heroes and see which one you want to level first.

Hmm well it's mostly about preference but if you want some cookie cutter stuffs then go Monk, Apprentice, Squire.

Monk is mainly for boost aura with the useful skyguard tower & lightning aura.

Apprentice will be your main tower builder spamming fireball towers with a frost here & there.

Squire will stack tower health for walls & use his shield to block & stall ogres so your def can wail on them.

Personally though I use a tower monk, tower huntress, & waller squire.

If you are new and not sure what to do, pick App or Squire. You will need simple stationary towers as a base for your build.

You can make a total of six heroes, but you can only switch between the three in your deck, on a map.

I suggest starting with squire or apprentice to understand how the game plays, as they have basic projectile defenses.

Branch out and experiment with different decks.

Eventually use two monks because he rocks and is the best. (jk... but not really)

Right now, the monk is really good/popular.

Lightning auras (LA) make a deadly combo with Huntress geyser traps, and boost auras will greatly compliment any offensive builders.

One Monk geared for lightning auras and one Monk geared for boost auras, is probably the best pairing in the game.

I encourage you to try something different, though. Because:

The monk will probably get nerfed snowman2.png

Monk requires less build strategy and relies more on gear/stats for success. (debatable, of course)

I suggest you start with the one you like the most!

Atm the way it goes is:

Easiest Early Game with only 1 character solo:

  1. Huntress
  2. Squire
  3. Monk
  4. Apprentice

Easiest Later Game with only 1 character solo:

  1. Monk
  2. Squire/Apprentice (they're tied imo)
  3. Huntress

If you're not going solo then you won't even notice the difference.
