One last Suggestion...

Recommended Posts

When people get into the REALLY HIGH LEVEL's(70+) we should be able to buy the EXP/XP Booster more than once... It just costs MORE MANA to buy it more. From 70,000 to like 140,000 or 150,000 then 250,000 and so on. Only up to 3 per level. If the guy's that made Dungeon Defenders don't wanna change how the Leveling work's, then make people work more for the Mana to spend for it? Cause I mean the weapon's take already INSANE amounts of Mana to max out. I actually had a friend give me a Modded weapon to SELL for Mana for it to max at a 200,000,000 Mana Bank. I barely got 120,000,000 left from maxing out 4 or 5 God-Weapon's and ONE pet. Nothing else! That's over-kill it take's well over 50 hours of game-play to get the max 200,000,000 Mana Pool amount banked. Not to mention to keep upgrading stuff.

And the makers WONDER WHY people Mod? They mod level's and weapons and Mana. So they can actually get the game down FASTER like it's meant to be. Even EXP mod's. They do that cause the game at level 70+ is over-done. Expansion or not, THAT is the MAIN CAUSE for why people are Modding. I even had friend's admit to it everywhere on the game.

Hmm, you make it sound like much ....
which it really isn't :P

Play the game a bit, you shall see :)

"And the makers WONDER WHY people Mod?" Ahahahaha, they dont -_-
The main cause people are modding, is to make fun maps, to play around with weapons and effects. Pretty much to have fun.
What you call modding, is actually a game engine that you as a player can play with!

Dont make it sound like all modders is cheaters and hackers, cause they aren't! The people who mod's most likely have quite a high amount of hours invested into the game. If they invested those just to cheat, what would be the point? xD

But yeah, you should play the game a bit, and if you absolutely cannot play it on your own, then il give you one ingame run, and show you how easy it is to do with the newer maps. Its not even grinding anymore :P

I've been playing it. And yes they DO MOD anyone level 50+ Mod with Modded Weapons. EVERYONE. You NEVER went out and asked them why they do it, so don't state your "Point-of-view" if you're just stating why YOU do it. Or a couple friend's.

I met 30-40 people on the game that play it ACTIVELY... All except 4 Modded. I asked all of them except 2 of the Modder's why they Mod. MOST SAID it was cause either the Leveling, lack of Mana, or the Weapon's were Underpowered for INSANE.

And it's Modding when the damanges are Infinite, instant killing everything, glowing weapons glowing armor, glowing pet's that take up HALF their player screen Info, all giving +500 Booster's to ALL states speed and all, giving them Million's of Player Health making them Invincible.

Ok, so you played on open. Yes people who play on open does so to mod, why else would they do it?

Most people play on ranked, but you couldn't know this i guess.

What you talk about isn't "modding" but "cheating". The difference is, modders mod because they find it fun. Cheaters plays because, well, all games they play is boring because they cheat :/ If you want infinite hp etc. well, thats not your choice, but saying that because everyone dont have infinite hp and stats, the game is bad? You are either a troll, or just stupid, but im quite sure its the first one ...

Actually. Modding is defined as "Enhancing the ability of a gear or weapon to an insane amount not allowed within the game and/or console." It's Modding. Look up the definition pleas.

Actually the Modders I see do incredibly well without the Mod's. Some of them are my friend's. Saw them do it without mods at all.

To a point i must agree that upgrading should be enjoyably and not feel like a chore, most items should not absorb huge hours/days of earning (hours grinding mana) with exception of the few unique/ultra rare items; there needs to be a balance.

I have 1200hours on dd2 under my belt from pc , and i must agree cheating/modding what ever one may call it was hugely active in ranking games and the only way to tackle this problem was predominantly left to the community. personally i stop playing DD1 for this very particular reason ,as what once seemed bespoke suddenly became all to common and worthless with cheatng/modding in ranked matches. from what i know TE have invested allot in rectifying this matter to insure DD2 is not a victim of the same pitfall which disheartened and discouraged people to play on.

ps i stopped playing dd1 after the toxic armguard events.. still have my 6 capain isoms, 4 mega chicken, all original armguards, all toxic armguards and bunch of humongous eggs :).. totaly loved DD1

True with the upgrading. And people would Mod MUCH LESS if the Leveling were fixed along with the Mana Problem. I found out that's the 2 MAIN problems on there. And by the way... The Modder's would move straight to DD2 and mess with it too thinking it's the near same as DD1. So yeah... It's not gonna be a problem fix... If TE wanted to TOTALLY get rid of Modder's... Then why don't they just make it so if it read's the Damage registering in the Billion's to automatically remove the weapon and make it unusable?(I can Code... It's a simple command Script to use and it'll work).

you dont need to be able to program to do that :/

And truth be told, no this will not be possible in dd2, as everything is server side, as to dd1 where it is client side.

Yeah not without Mod's. I can only make 10mil in less than an hour. Not 200mil... The 10mil is WITH the Modded weapons I asked friend's for. I'm modding, now, to level up and get the Mana I need. If TE REALLY wanted Modder's gone, they'd FIX the Leveling.

Server Sided? Still hackable. Still Modable. ROBLOX game's are Server-Sided. It still get's Modded stuff in their game's.

sure, its hackable, but its also possible to make it so people is automatically banned if they try to change the values serverside. It is like sending someone a virus, if you have a antivirus program, you can find out where it came from, and react to it.

A hacker, personally doing it, might get away doing so. But you would need to be pretty stupid to buy a hack someone else had made then. Btw, are you seriously comparing a game without security, with a game that has people working on keeping the game secure 24/7?

Its a BIG difference between a kids game with average 12yo and an adult game with a much higher average age bar. Depending on your community, you need to create security to avoid problems. Dungeon defenders 1 was very insecure, thats why security is one of the top subjects in dd2, to avoid it getting broken with "hackers" like happened in dd1. If you inject something into the server, it will be noticable for the retieving end. Even if you dont get instantly banned, you will get banned, and so will all accounts that played on the same ip as the hacking account was on. Thats just how this stuff works, they research ways to fix, avoid, and remove cancer from the game.

If you dont believe me that roblox is specifically aimed for kids:
"Official site of the free MMO building game for kids." Is what it says in the meta description for the website.

If you want to compare stuff, please compare something serious, i.e. show me all the people with infinite gold in world of warcraft from hacking, oh you cant? Oh, because its serverside and highly secure? But why did you say it was so easily hackable then? :O

ps. instead of coming with games you have hacked in, please say someone which is unhackable rather, so its possible to follow their example.

Hey guys! Let's all come down a bit, take a step back, and come back to this conversation not at each other's throat.

Is the leveling from 70+ a grind? Yes it is. But I personally feel that it should be. If it was easy, then it wouldn't be satisfying to get to max level.

No, you can get 200mil in less than an hour legitly

I don't know about that much...but I have made 100 million in about an hour and a half.

Completely off topic here... But whoah... are you from the future!? :p

Back on topic, reading through this topic makes me a little disheartened. You have a whole community full of lovely long time Dungeon Defenders players trying their best to convince you otherwise of the issues you have raised, yet you continue to throw their helpful advice back at them without a second glance...

:/

I'm leaving this thread visible b/c the op had a valid suggestion, but when you start talking about actual methods to hack, the thread goes away.
