These latest patches are completely screwing up this game.

it still baffles me how people can say they're destroying the game by nerfing a blatantly overpowered class. face it: you're just upset your class is getting nerfed. that's it. they're not destroying the game, you just can't handle nerfs.

fact of the matter is the squire trivialized the game and needed to be nerfed. my highest character is a squire and it sucks it got nerfed, but the WHOLE reason I made one is because they're overpowered.


to be honest your point is somewhat moot because in that sense everyone should have atleast 1 of each class, its not exactly hard to level them up after all :P

Side note, i wish i could like, adjust the camera to get a frontal view of my heroes. Want to get some screnshots but all i get to see is their back ends D:

i just did it as a tower app with only blockades and MMT


Yah I was just mentioning it can be done w/o relying on Squire Towers to do everything ( I am Tower D squire main btdubs). I
should have clarified this point :D.
also solo'ed using only traps with huntress.

As it stands, squires are more valuable than any other class, you would get kicked so a team could be all squires in many occasions. This "nerf" wasnt really a nerf what it was was them going back to how they orignally ment the game to be. Think of it like this:

because everyone should already have one, and well they didnt exactly trivialize the game in that sense at all, they made it easier sure but far from trivializing it.

if you go to the tavern, and sorta walk down the stairs past the training dummy thing if you angle it right you can get your guy to turn round so you can see his front

Five days later, same poster

"NERF [NOT MY CLASS] OMG"

Seriously, people. The Squire isn't meant to be better than every other class. Just like the huntress wasn't, so her possible maxdamage was reduced a LOT recently. The classes are meant to have strengths and weaknesses. This is because the game is designed as a team experience.

And you can have that solo - just use 4 characters. Even nets you an archievement at 70.

The worst argument here is that "Kobolds are too bad because you need traps": Au contraire: This is GOOD. This makes the huntress as a trapper finally more useful. That you need "too much maintenance" for the traps is wrong, because a properly specced huntress for solo-support will have VERY, VERY little maintenance because the traps really last forever.


Dungeon defenders should be balanced around a co-op experience. All classes should bring things that you miss if you don't have the class along, full stop. Before the nerf, the game was broken - people only built squire towers, ignoring everyone else. This isn't okay, this is terrible, and had to be fixed. Squire towers must never be the only towers you need, and the other classes must bring things that the squire cannot bring. Similarly, the squire must bring things the other classes cannot.

If this is the case, the game is properly balanced. Currently, steps are being taken to that goal, and I am glad that TrendyNet is finally taking these steps, despite the usual complaints that any game does whenever the developers do a nerf. Really, people. YOu can copypaste nerf-complaints from other games into this forum and swap out class/ability names, and nobody would notice the difference.

the difference being this isnt a semi pvp oriented game and blizzard doesnt nerf their classes by 50% :P

Yeah my lvl 70 Trap huntress with 70 hero points in trap count, and gear for it has 39 charges on Proxys and 27 on Shock trps, very little maintance, just repair them all after waves and good to go.

the only thing that bugs me about this is, if you do play solo and you end up say, on the summit insane, you'd need 4 classes who all have benefits, the downside is that your going to have to drop points somewhere to get dps to kill the boss with, let the theorycrafting commence? xD

that would be relevant if it didn't take upwards of 9+ hours to complete 30 waves of survival to get an item. I for one have a job and would still like to be able to get these items. It doesn't hurt anyone if I set up a private game and leave it on while I'm at work.

What happened? Did the new generation of gamers get even more lazy than before? As if sitting on your *** playing comp games wasnt bad enough, now they dont even wanna be bothered to do that either!

I don't see why its a bad thing if someone wants to go for the 30 waves, and doesn't want to sit there the whole time.

What If i want to set my stuff up...go through x amount of waves and then leave it on a build time while I afk to do something then come back to finish? Why is that terrible?

Oh how could I not have seen that my world revolved around the way that you think I should spend my time. I have played this game alot during my free time so that I could get the good equipment and stats I have so that I could AFL and get an item with even better stats hence making the game more enjoyable for me when I play a level that doesn't take all day. You may live in your moms basement or whatever your situation, but I have to pay rent. Your damn tight I'm to '"lazy" to sit at my computer all day.

Why shoudl you be rewarded for not doing anything?

Think about it. You can just walk away from something and come back and have it pretend like you were still there and reward you. You dont sit on the sidelines in football all game and come in the last play and score the touchdown and win. well you could, maybe, but still.

If you want to be rewrded, put forth the effort to earn the reward. Thats how the world works. You do something, thus you are rewarded.

Unless your a hobo, whose really good at singning, then you get rewarded for sitting there doing nothign, cept your still sinign so you are doing somethign to earn your reward.

You see how this works? You give effort, they give prizes for effort.

since you obviously can't read. Let me reiterate that I put in alot of time so I could get to the point were I could afk survival. The job reference you made makes no sense in its context and. Please put some thought process into your points before you post them. It'll be more helpful to others and it'll make you look less uneducated.
