everyone Daish plays with has quit because of this patch we all enjoyed the tower playstyle

less then 0.2% of the player base has compleated insane achivements in steam
http://steamcommunity.com/stats/Dung.../achievements/

there was no reason to nerf squire at all

Daish went from trying to get other people to play to telling people how bad this game is

everyone who posts how easy insane challenges are search their name in Steam you will find they have almost no insane achivements compleated

finaly an arguement that doesnt read like an elitist rant about how the game should only be teambased, thank you.

the only thing ive been trying to argue is that you put too little value in solo play and too much in multiplay, i never disagreed that the squire needed a nerf, all i said was that it was too much.

Devs admitted it was too much and backed off a bit.

I feel it will now be in its proper role. Hopeeing. Waiting for the patch to go out to play anymore today. =]

As it stands, squires are more valuable than any other class, you would get kicked so a team could be all squires in many occasions. This "nerf" wasnt really a nerf what it was was them going back to how they orignally ment the game to be. Think of it like this:

We have 4 classes, each supposed to bringing something diffrent to the table.

Squire, Apprentance, Huntress, and Monk. Well what do they bring? What roles are they?

Squire - The Defense Class. Short range defense units with high health to hold off mobs.

Apprentance - The Offense Class. Long Range towers with high attack and low health to kill intruders.

Huntress - The Support/Range DPS Class. Traps to thin out the lanes before they get to your defenses. High attack to deal damage while waiting for traps.

Monk - The Support/Melee DPS Class. Auras to help bolister your defense further and keep mobs at bay while the apprentice towers mow down the mobs.

Ok, well we have a concept how of the clases SHOULD be, but they wernt.

Squire was topping out the DPS, the Defense, and didnt need any Support. It was a 1 Man Army. Not how a class based system was intended to work.

Super post. Was digging through all the cussing, bickering and screaming to find something rational like this.

It doesn't matter if you can solo a map with your hands tied behind your back, due to the nature of the game, you will always, ALWAYS, be at an advantage if you mix class traps simply due to the nature of the class compositions. It's baked right into the game. Every class simply has things that others don't, no matter how buffed or under-buffed they are. As it is, if everything is working right, you should be at a disadvantage for not employing cross-class traps. So if you're upset that soloing insane Summit is now a super challenge for your Squire, then great, I say!

Maybe because that's not how I have fun in game? I enjoy farming money and buying items and having fun running though maps with my friends! So what are you trying to say I need to do insane challenges to play the game or something?

You just canceled out most of your own arguments xD

It's built in to the game. Therefore, soloing a map is always going to be tougher if classes are balanced right.

that post is so full of it i would like to see him 1 maning insane challenges on a tower squire and not use anything else

it was already impossible before the #$^[[573,hashtags]] nerfs

can you maybe not talk out of your *** ?

2) A hero spec character that can put out lots of dps, move really fast, and not die. Obviously a huntress is great because she's easy, but I'm sure you could use any character. Increase defense (generic and/or fire), health, dps, and move speed as needed.

a solo tower squire could NEVER solo summit insane you had to use more then 1 character it would be impossible for a tower squire to do by itsself

well that's my personal play style, anything I said was about game balancing issues and such! Nothing to do with how I personally play.

I was unaware i said i or anyone was 1 maning instances with the squire alone. But thats fine, see what you want to validate your arguement further.

Ogre crush is easy, as long as you have a high elemental weapon. The .06 patch did not make it too much harder, unless you relied solely on towers.

I can verify this, ive tried it with just the tower squire about 100 times but i ended up having to use my huntress to take care of the ogres and ninja's because they kept wrecking everything

I'm sorry. My example (Insane Summit) was a bit extreme. I simply was making the point that balancing classes to work together was more important to the integrity of the game. Anyway, no need to get so angry. I honestly didn't think people would pay so much attention to the Insane Summit thing.

it still baffles me how people can say they're destroying the game by nerfing a blatantly overpowered class. face it: you're just upset your class is getting nerfed. that's it. they're not destroying the game, you just can't handle nerfs.

fact of the matter is the squire trivialized the game and needed to be nerfed. my highest character is a squire and it sucks it got nerfed, but the WHOLE reason I made one is because they're overpowered. there was zero point in taking other classes to fill your DU. buffing other classes while leaving the squire pre-patch would NOT solve the issue.
