Most memorable event moment and a chance to win item rarer than Armguards of EARTH!

Recommended Posts

As a late comer to events but not to DD I have participated in but one event the Star Race :) Oh what fun practicing that map was, shaving seconds here and there showing others what I discovered and my shiny new Rainmaker woo hoo! I guess for me it is maybe a good thing I didn't play in all the events that some did because my DD addiction is already very strong, I can only imagine how bad off I would be had I had even more fun playing this game. Thank you to all those that have coordinated the events and administered them and to Trendy for my personal favorite game of all time :)

My most memorable event on PC as a player would have to be my 1st. I was but a wee lad on that fateful day when I attempted to take on Blitzkrieg. My characters were all in there 80's here on ranked. I went to open where I could port them to a 100. However, all of my gear was still trans. I got my numbers up to 2k and thought I would be fine. I built a strong defense to handle the summit and we clicked start. It took 15 minutes to build everything. 5 seconds later Dredd was saying good game and we were meeting him on ranked.

lol I actually remember that. Blitzkrieg is not for the faint of heart and was always meant to be a end game difficulty.

I think the most fun i ever had was the princess quest. You guys made the most amazing map in the entire DD1 history. I have always love the Zelda type of quests and playing it on Dungeon Defenders was the best experience of my life.

P.S. I heard that Iamisom has this rare Captain Isom somewhere can we see it? Anyone?

The Legend of Selda event in the Throne Room. It was my first event, I had no clue what I was doing. There was a level requirement where your character could not be over level 14(Or somewhere close to that) and the game was on medium. It was the combination of sheer underpower-ment and only having played that map two times before(My best character couldn't have been over 60 at the time) that made it such a struggle. I remember thinking that I would sell the Minish Hat(I believe that was the item from the Throne Room) for cubes and then get procks for those, but ended up changing my mind once I got the Hat. It was just so beautiful, and amazing.
I remember playing with pretty much just slice n' dices and bouncers. It was so much fun. The wyverns almost proved to be our end, but we prevailed in the end. The boss was surprisingly easier than I thought, he just took a long time. The feeling of victory I had at the end was just amazing. It was that event that got me to then participate in all the other events, in which I have some hilarious and fun memories with members of the community.

Also, isn't Ice's rock also one of a kind? So if anyone at the Trendy office(*Wink wink* Laura *Wink wink*) wants to log onto his account and give that rock to me, there will be internet hugs given :D

Tolling the participants while an event host :D

I will say I wasn't trolling them too hard... almost all of them found it enjoyable. Especially fun when on the maps where we could control the difficulty/mobs spawning and they would ask me to make it hard for them, so hard I made it!!!! BWAHAHAHAH!

My most memorable moment was doing my first event on PC with my bud Wolyeon. We were just noobs to the scene back then and we basically got carried through the event by the other people in our party. Nevertheless it was fun and exciting seeing the DemonLord Copters and such. :3

Never actually entered an event before, but will enter the last one coming up. Will edit this post and share my experience with that.

Edit: Just did the most recent event. Surprisingly fun. Though not knowing when bosses were going to show up really screwed us. Regardless, lots of fun.

I'm afraid the upcoming event will be my first and, sadly, last. So, this post is in hopes of a very good time (really looking forward to it!)

Just wanted to update this with the results. My first event was a great one. I loved the map and, while we didn't win out, I really loved that it included all the various map styles in one event. The people were great and the effort that went into the whole thing made it a huge amount of fun.

Event team, congratulations and thank you!

Most memorable event moment and a chance to win item rarer than Armguards of ...

My most memorable moment in an event would have to be running around like a madman in the Amazeing Maze event. It was my first event and I had a blast trying to find my way to the end (I almost made it). Since I'm posting this after the last event though, I'd say the last event was the most fun as I ran with my group buddies and the wonderful arti.

I enjoyed the second anniversary event. What with UK time zones, my son only being able to play once he turned 8 (around the time of this event) and then only playing if he had done his homework, this is the only event he played. However, this was my favourite event moment.

My favourite solo event moment was probably Dragon of the North. Good event map, interesting story, cool attractive item.

My favorite event moment would have to be for the jason vorhees mask. (or however its spelled) WE made a square of towers around us. (except we all left the square and just went off and killed stuff) Then when we had finally gotten to the boss wave, we were expecting a huge challenge so we all hopped on our best dps chars. Then once the countdown ended, it said we won and the boss never spawned.

Most memorable event moment was Princess Quest. It was my last event before leaving Trendy back in May. I had tears of laughter streaming down my face as I tried to complete the platforming section.

And of course, that twist ending.

So good.

While I have enjoyed all six events that I have been in, starting with Raining Everything, the most memorable would have to be Star Race.

At first I wasn't quite so sure about it, but as I learned the course I really enjoyed practicing for this event... just one more run to see if I could do a little better... try a different gate... jump a little sooner (or later)... pull back on the landing... backtrack here or there for an extra gate. It was probably even more fun because I was using a controller with analog sticks for movement.

Anyway, it was near the end of the first two days for the event and I hadn't scheduled to run it later in the week. Fortunately, Eagle was online and offered to host the race for me. We went to his tavern and then proceeded to the track. I ran around the pole to get things started, waited for the gates to open, and was off... the only runner on an otherwise empty track... me against the clock.

Shortly after the race started, Crash showed up. I think he was just popping over to visit Eagle and found himself in the middle of the race. The two of them were hopping around, getting themselves killed and sending messages to each other. I was just trying to concentrate on my route and keep a steady pace. I didn't know if we were on HC or not and the last thing I wanted was to fall off the track and have the whole race come to an abrupt end. I had visions of the two of them being dead and watching me, the only thing on the screen that was moving... (no pressure).

I was about at my usual spot (just past the maze) when the music stopped (which it does) and all was going well. I just had to finish the race in silence, except for the sounds I made running down the track.

Anyway, I managed to keep it together through the final jumps, hit the home stretch and cross the line. I didn't know how my time compared to anything. I was just glad to have put in a respectable showing. The guys congratulated me for finishing the race and all was well with the world.

Even after the event was over I ran the race a few more times to see if I could do better. It's quick to do and kind of mesmerizing, a virtual runner's high.

I would also like to give an honorable mention to Dragon of the North. Although I did not play it as an event I have played it on open as it was intended to be played during the event. It was a lot of fun... but that is another story.

I highly recommend playing earlier event maps on open for those of you who have not tried them. I am still discovering new and fascinating things.

I never participated at an event but anyways my most memorable event map was Star Race. I tried it some days before the event and at first I thought I didn't have a good time but as I've seen the results I was surprised. The second map is AkaTurkey Hunt, awesome challenge for everyone regardless if you played it during the event or later.

Hope I will get some time (damn weekends, damn work :D ) for the last event, so I have played at least one event :)

The most memorable event for me would have to be the Jason Vorhees event. I was partnered up with my friend Lemming and we were then partnered up with another guy who ended up being the primary builder. This might have actually been my first event if I recall as adrenaline was pumping not knowing what to expect.

Of course we did our best to gear up and prepare, but what made it so memorable is grouping up with a random person or two and everyone immediately knowing what to do and unselfishly helping to win. It was the ultimate team effort--the thing that made DD a special game from the beginning.

I remember the ending like it happened yesterday. We cleared the waves and the big type appears announcing the Boss and it's Jason Vorhees, which was a Dark Elf wearing a Jason mask. We all laughed when we saw it. Then the host says, follow me. We proceeded to follow him to where Jason was and we dispatched him quickly thus earning our very own Jason Vorhees masks. I still have mine stored safely in my inbox. Not powerful enough to be used today, but too many memories to part with.

Probably my favourite memory was on the Lava Wave stage. The name of the stage escapes me, but the lava was just incredible. The glitch level was immense, and every wave of lava just lead to being flung halfway across the map if you weren't careful. After awhile, one of us landed in the boat far off shore. It turned out that you couldn't get hit if you sat there, and so one by one we attempted to fling ourselves over to that location, leaving our defenses to fend for themselves. It was pretty funny, but it didn't end up helping all that much. Eventually I think we all went back to our posts and I forget if we won or lost, but it was pretty darn fun, even with the glitchiness.

I have to say the most memorable was the last event, playing with a group of friends and making fun of each other while we ran the map always leaves a nice memory. Was the only time I thought to myself, I need better equipment hahaha. The monk at the end will stay with me for a while with all of his OP glory, also the quote before he comes out that basically says "You thought it would be that easy?"

The last event was my first. We started lagging at last boss and most of us couldn't see the enemies so our previously well-coordinated team was running around like a bunch of headless chickens. (including myself :))
