What's been the most shocking thing to happen to you in a video game?

So I ask you all, have you ever had anything unexpected or shocking happen to you in a game that completely threw you for a loop?

A long time ago, when I was playing Maplestory, I pissed somebody off and they said that they'd hack my account. They actually did.

Though if we're talking about stuff contained in the games themselves, I guess the most shocking thing I had experienced was the plot twist in Ever17. I don't think people who haven't played it would understand at all, but

Either the unexpected death in FF7 or that moment in Resident Evil 2 when you're running down one of the hallways, and it's a hallway you've ran through many times. Then suddenly the windows break and Zombie hands try to grab you. I shrieked like a little girl...granted I WAS a little girl but still. I was NOT expecting that.

Ever17 is a game I've been meaning to play for a while Laura ma'am, can you recommend it?

When the Red Testament was unmasked in Xenosage Episode III ~ I figured it was that person but it was still a surprise.

The most shocking thing for me was in FF6 where you had a choice to either let Shadow/Cid die or save them. Both characters can be saved pretty easily but its the fact that you can actually let them die that I had found pretty shocking especially as a kid making those choices regardless of it being a video game.

The one that pops out in recent memory is the end of "Gone Home". I literally gasped. It was less about being surprised-shocked and more wtf-shocked.
