Daniel Haddad, Creative Director (Blacksmith)

CatFaerie keeps yelling at me to do this thing unbenounced to her I was in meetings all day, @#$% it.

Investigating what are some things we can do in terms of balance and composition to make the early part of DD2 a little more enjoyable and entertaining and also some other more nebulous yet maybe soon-to-be cool things I can’t really talk about just yet probably…

Danny Araya, Creative Director (DannyAraya)

Cinematic outlines!

James Reid, Software Programmer (Driscan)

Working on that Auto Collect.

Jeffrey Bickel, Technical Level Designer (TE_Jeff)

This week, I’m working on the gameplay prototype for Carl*. Carl? CAAAAARRLLLLL!

Steven Collins, Level Designer (Esorath)

Balance and bug fixing. Working through some known bugs and issues. Working towards making Onslaught more rewarding.

Chris Flores, QA Lead (likethatwhenigothere)

More hotfixes, some new changes to old man Scavenger, and once the newest PS4 merge is complete, try to see how our main Dev build survives.

Joshua Javaheri, Lead Technical Artist (javahawk)

Spending the last bit of time improving the visuals in Nightmare Mode to be %$#@%$ terrifying! =O

Adam Stow, Associate Producer (TE_Stow)

Trying to figure out who has been naughty or nice for the holiday season upcoming. There may be gifts & themes for the holidays! :)

Jason Yu, Associate Producer (urfyness)

Bouncing between hotfixes and development has been keeping me busy. Also debugging problems that pop up as time permits. I solved a screen flickering issue that a number of people were seeing. Felt good.

Jesus Diaz, World Builder (N3oDoc)

Still polishing the social hub level, trying to bring more color to the scene. (Remember, it’s a work in progress, so there’s not a release date yet).

Daniel Diaz, World Builder (DanielKaMi)

Working on large buildings for the background areas of the social hub. (Remember, it’s a work in progress, so there’s not a release date yet).

The next pic shows the spawn zone area.

Dani Moore, Remote QA Manager (Dani)

Poring over the changes to the Scavenger and working up a sweat on other projects. Reviewing the future and opening the doors once again to recruit more members to the RQA team.

Josh Isom, Community Manager (iamisom)

Prepping my trigger finger for this week’s Devstream. You read that right:  If all goes according to keikaku, you’ll see my ugly mug on the stream! I’m pretty stoked for what we have planned this week. Tune in at 5PM EDT on Friday!

I’ve been talking with design, programming and production about some of the biggest issues we’ve seen since our Early Access launch, which includes the feedback brought up since our Alpha & Beyond release. We also put out a satisfaction survey last week to help tune in on how our community at large feels about the game. If you haven’t already, please fill that out! It should take about five minutes to complete. I’m talking with Phil about sharing the results of the survey with everyone. We don’t normally do that, but I think the results are pretty enlightening.

Also, weapon variety! Finally. I played DD1 for a few hours last night, and while DD2’s combat feels smoother and more accurate, there’s a certain joy to the weapons in DD1.

Yay! Makes my life easier trying to help people in the TS forums. Now to fix the long loading screen/playverse issue :D

Once again, love these blogs! Keep up the great work everyone :)

Good stuff. I'm more interested in the economy being fixed at this point though. Testing pets for stats is incredibly expensive now and I have a bunch of other things that money should be going towards too.

honestly the best part of this is the multiple references to looking at DD1 for how to proceed, cause i'll say it "i'm not a fan of DD2, but DD1 is my favorite game"

so a question about the social hub that was mentioned. please dont shoot me for this question i'm still somewhat new to dd2. what is the social hub? is it going to be like the social tavern but me like an open market place with the tavern only becoming private?

PS: the proper use of the meme is "CORAL". i know the show it's spelled carl but that's just how the meme is.

Are you hinting to adding in some o the weapons that were in DD1???? O really miss my Shia, looking forward to devstream. Keep up the good work.

Also, why do we have a time limit in getting pets? 8hrs seems a bit much and makes DD2 really feel like a p2w(even though it isnt). Could you make the pet drops more rare and take out that timer? Please add more pets to, I miss my death robof that shot lasers from his eyes, or my Chinese dragon. Please add in better visual attacks for the pets aswell. Also, the tavern doesn't really feel alive, just seems dead to me. Could you add some some better visuals and maybe put in a band in the tavern were they play tavern music? Will you be addig in a secret room aswell? Really enjoyed that little hidden area even tho it was small. Would also be great to trade( hope it will be added), maybe a clan/alliance thing, to make it easier to find your friends and all. The levels don't seem as fun as they used to be either, I miss jumping on the magic carpet to get to one side of the map. Mob diversity is also an issue I have, but I suppose their are enough for now(WE need more bosses and harder ones). It also seems that it is incredibly easy to get legendaries, and when you do it has no meaning or flavor. I want this awesome description of how this sword is a shard of a crystal and has ultimate power and requires a weiler of ultimate power to wield, not just "legendary sword" oh yay so cool(no). Legendaries should be hard to get and have a certain place to get it in, not just anywhere. And again with the pets, they are incredibly bland to me. In DD1 I used to love getting new pets to see what they did and what they looked like(most freaking awesome). Now it's this little thing their and I have not a care in the world for it. The spheres, I think you should get rid of these things and add better bonuses to armor and weapons. In DD2 I have not a clue when I got my first legendary, IT SHOULDNT BE LIKE THIS THIS. I want to remember how much blood sweat and tears I had to go through to get it, not just have it fall off of a goblin. I am not sure if I like the new forge(older one was better imo) this one just doesn't feel as cool  as the old one. The end boss, I have no idea what the end boss has to do with the old ones or how those eggs matter at all. I knwo its still in alpha I'm just saying, thank you for your time. Sorry if I'm ranting I could go on all day. Don't get me wrong it's a really good game so far but at the current state of it I don't think I would see myself playing it as much as I did DD(over 600+ hours).would put more but its already pretty long.

Thanks for your time,

Tiger

agree with most. mob diversity and pet stuff totally needs redone, it's in a bad place right now. and items need an overhaul of ogre proportions

its just that u cant see or get to know all the features dd1 had to offer unless u play its a few days i think. Best to just take a 5 day Break for the entire dd2 team and all go play dd1. Then implement all the stuff dd1 had and add some new things as well.

And Check out how the Physical Magical mini Game you have is implemented in dd1 since here its a bothersome Feature which only kills Hero Damage as long as you just build the Correct Traps for the Correct resist Lane its kinda useless once you know about it so why keep it at all ? its just a Hero Damage debuffer and we dont have much Hero Damage already.

I feel the same, only upgrades for me are the controlls and the graphics.

I still have not seen the opening story in game. I know of at least 2 or 3 others who have not seen it in game either. Is there something being done so that all of us see it? My brother says he is not gonna play again until there is a story line & not like the NPC's with word bubbles, but story like there was in DD1. I really would like to play the game with him again.

i want it like dd1 have my own private hub i can display my one of a kind items and what they look like. dis[lay my pets and tropheys that we have earned,  theres more joy to dd1 then there is to dd2 better weapon selection so many different pets in all shape and sizes not just 75 percent of them in a half ball shape. to me dd1 i eprfer it over this game

I'm a bit disappointed no one is working on the network lag issues.

The network issues are our #1 priority, particularly in regards to lag and entering a Social Tavern.

I think pet hatching timer is ok. I have a lot of pets and I don't feel that this timer makes game p2w. I think that waiting for some special pet from egg - realy cool. I was realy happy when i finaly get some cool pets. I see another problem in pets. I think that pet evolution must change them like with premium pets, cose it makes fell progress. Maybe makes some rare resources for making pet older. So you can farm this thing or buy next pet design for gems.

P.s. sorry for my english.

Continue your great work guys and don't let the negativity get you down.

hi team dev.

i just want to share abit...

i have been playing dd2 since u guys release it @ steam. and i found now and before alpha is very different. right now it feel like playing an offline game. there is no more sense of togetherness that i missed like in pre alpha where most of the time you play with another 3 people. now at alpha most people that i chat with play solo because playing duo or 4 people make its so much harder for a gear that is the same as soloing.

i dont know if anyone else think the same...
