Greetings, Defenders! We are currently deploying Patch 8.5. We do not expect any downtime, and the deployment is scheduled to end at 9 AM, EST. 

Content

  • The Tavern’s received a makeover, just in time for Thanksgiving! The Tavernkeeper is really proud of the feast he’s laid out. Make sure you wash your hands, and no weapons at the dinner table, please. We’re looking at you, Squire. No, you can’t use a sword to cut turkey...
  • The harvest is upon us! The Apprentice is all geared up for the season in his new Scarecrow costume. We tried to tell him a simple spell would work, but he insists on getting all dressed up. He seems to think he’s really scary. Magic-users, amirite?
Balance
  • Some of you have been getting rich off of corpses. Well, we’ve reduced the drop rates from normal enemies on the Spooky maps, so that may put an end to all this grave robbing tomfoolery. We also reserve the right to use the word ”tomfoolery” whenever we please, so there.

Bugfixes
  • We’ve fixed the bug where Shellium shards are getting sent to the Scavenger and then destroyed. Maybe. We think we fixed it, anyway.  The Scavenger is kind of a scary dude, and he’s got the crazy eyes. Let us know if he keeps stealing your shards, and we’ll take care of it. Or maybe send the Squire after him...

Kind of a meh patch, nothing really meaningful in here. Every week I hope to see that they fixed the bug where opening a chest to get mana for the round wouldn't delete all the loose mana on the ground. I know everyone's priorities are different,  I just think there's a lot of core concepts and ideas that need either tweaking/fixing/implementing rather than something like the tavern getting a holiday theme.

Before anyone tells me "different departments work on different things", the art department could be working on much cooler stuff like trophies and decorations for the tavern to be unlocked via missions/challenges like in DD1. I'm not really excited for new bosses, I'm not excited for new maps. We have a decent pool of maps right now but most aren't played because the core game design is flawed and only 2 or 3 are really worth playing at all, whether you're looking to level up or farm loot.

I have over 140 hours put into this game so far, over 100 has been in Throne Room, do something to encourage players to play the other maps. Offer better loot, better XP, do something. It's a little frustrating because I feel the game has tons of potential and I'm either not sure Trendy will get there or am just frustrated with the pacing.

could not agree more , seems like trendy are very quick in adding updates that allow them to cash in more. 

are gems even worth the purchase ? did trendy screw people over by promoting gems as the means to unlock utilities without telling them or  clearly stating them of the restrictions ?     

i mean i don't want to buy cosmetic with my gems, ive reached the max bags limit, premium pets roll is near stupid and the fact that you are not guaranteed the premium pet ability is crazy.... what are my 11k gems worth?

I'm also not excited for new bosses or new levels at this point in time.  You can't add new levels while the core game features are not solid enough or missing entirely. 

I feel most of this is they feel the need to keep pushing this fluff content out to try and keep interest from the all F2P people who downloaded the game.

My guess is that most everything we want will have to be rolled up into this milestone patch in December.  So we're pretty much only going to get tiny little bug fixes here and here until then.  I just hope after this milestone patch that they start looking at the core game features more.

I'm hoping they can at least let me test the new loot system, so that I have something to do.  I pretty much refuse to farm NM4 at this point, because of the drops.

I wish trendy would stop focusing on menial problems such as corpse money and shelium shards, and direct their attention to actual problems plaguing the greater community, like their bloody servers performing like old people with polio or stuttering like King George the VI...

Please fix squire's heavy cannon ball sphere, it has been broken since few months back. There is currently no point in using the sphere since it's dps and damage is inferior to the standard cannon ball tower.

Some improvements I wish: Unbalanced Uber Spheres (The Towerones seem all be worse then just without them (Heavy Cannon, Flamethrower))
Fix bug where fast swapping between heroes cause the "you died"-effect and have two heros in the other one. I mean it looks rly spooky, but well that event is over :)

The game is in alpha dude. You can't demand that all your needs be met so soon. All of these things will be fixed/implemented/balanced in time. JUST BE PATIENT. The core mechanics of the game are still yet to be polished and finalized so either wait, or code your own game for gods sake.
