The October monthly quest may blow your mind, Defenders. There is disturbing news from the front. Many troops have had reports of terrifying nightmares. A mass of hulking skeletons, shambling towards a cache of legendary treasures. They are led by horrifyingly cute teddy bears.

This is the work of a gang of Bearkiras, psychic Creepers with frightening powers. Head to the Incursions, secure the Legendaries and destroy their skeletal minions. They’ll be forced to join us in our fight against the Old Ones.

Teddy Bear Nightmare

  • Kill 75 Skeleton Special Enemies

  • Find 75 Legendary Items

  • Win 25 Incursions

We hope you enjoy this month's quest, Defenders! What do you think of the monthly pets so far?

Yeah that quest better, cause with it i can do my regular things and don't care about it.
(With prevuis one - i can't - cause i needed to use low level pets to quickly gain affection,my main pet already full....so it was like -800 stats...)

then it aint a quest. if you are doing exactly the same thing as before. Okay it might be a quest. but it is just merely fluff since you are doing EXACTLY the same thing as before.

I don't know why people are really complaining about the difficulty. All you have to do is run incursion a bunch. Lots of skeleton bosses, lots of leg drops. You can complete all three just by grinding incursion which grants you more xp than free mode hard (outside of the daily xp bonus at least).

This seems to be a lot cooler than the last monthly quests. Thinking about the shared kills from now on, I guess it will be enough to play on a regular basis.

Looking at the pets I think this one is the coolest of the monthly pets - and I totally love the relation to a real great manga ;-) (forget about the anime)

Pffffft, I'm still not sold on the RNG of the Skelingtons. I don't like playing Incursions either but I guess that's one way of getting me to try them out more. Legendary items are a dime a dozen though so I'm fine with that.

I guess play 25 Incursions and then farm as normal. Bound to get at least one Skelington per match on average in NM.

What is the current iPower level of easiest incursion.

art of the pet looks great, but i may feel differently when presented with the ingame model/animations/ability, so ill reserve judgement

ill echo what many people are saying; the skele bosses are frustrating, last months pet affection (i didnt have any problem with last months, just as an example) was grindy, but it atleast it could be done anywhere with expected progress, these skele bosses are grindytoo... but also heavily dictated by RNG... which is an extremely unfun combination

June.Rainbows

It means slay 75 Plagued Hulks or Slekleons.

Your best bet is do it on Nightmare I any map, where you face 4 boss enemies total and you have a 1/3.5 chance of one of the bosses being a skeleton.

The other 2 are straight forward. But it helps to use your Daily bonuses on End Game and do low difficulty Incursions solo with NM1+ Items.

However, I would like a video of the pet's capabilities in combat beforehand. I have more than enough reason to want the bear, but I want to see how it works so I know what stats to roll on it and give it to which character.

I would enjoy these more if the requirements weren't so ridiculous, also I missed September's pet because same reasons as well as some of friends.

I left it to the last day to try and get the Sword pet from last month's quest, but then stuff happened (had to take care of my nephew without any prior notification) and I ended with 73/75 pet affection levels when the servers switched to the teddy bear.
It was kinda fun to try and grab the Sword, but the method I had to use (enter NM4 incursion with a L0 pet; fail; repeat 'til L1) was very, very toxic: it wasn't cooperative, didn't rely on multiplayer, there was no proper progression, and it wasn't fun (I was alt+tabbing while watching YouTube videos and reading some essays).
As I didn't get the Sword, I can only talk about the Tiger: It is pretty useless and the effort put into getting it wasn't enough to make me like it more... I would probably relinquish it if the process had been more fun, tho.

So: the quests were quite grindy, but that's ok as we get 1 month to finish 'em; the objectives were mostly "un-fun" (Ogres needed solo play and pet affection needed underhanded measures to be farmed in a timely fashion, for example); The pets themselves are quite unique and well designed (other than the candle-holding fella), but collecting 'em is more of a chore than a labor of love.

Keep up the good work!

The problem I have really is that whilst I know I'll get this one eventually, as all 8 of my Heroes are carrying pets and there's only one slot left in my bag, the MOMENT I complete the quest for this pet, I'll have enough Wyvern Tokens to buy Itsy-Betsy...and not have the space for it. (and I still only need Serving Servant afterwards to have at least one of every pet)

I did Normal End Game Onslaught and got to Round 12-13 with my NM1-2 Gear. Each attempt was 6 Affection no problem.

I broke it down into 5 Ogres, about 4-5 pet levels and 1 egg a day and I got it all done in 20 days. No fuss.

Skeletons have a 1/3.5 chance of taking up a boss slot on a map.

Your best bet to get them to spawn is play End Game NM1-4 as you get 4 bosses per map (2 on Wave 3 and 2 on Wave 6).  So far, I have downed 11 of the 75 needed.

The Incursions aren't even a problem if you have people to play with. If you are on NM1-4, then Hard-Insane Forest Crossroads or NM1 Liferoot Forest are extremely manageable.

It doesn't say anything about the level of Incursions you have to beat.  Does it matter for the quality of the pet?

I would like monthly pets to be awesome, but they don't scale with map level... What about the ability of the previous one, an area of frost spades, even bombers are launghing about it in nightmare. And the first one, he has no characteristics, just attack rate/attack pet. Make em worth the effort, gobu.

Does the level of Incursion completed affect the pet's roll in any way?

No, non-Premium pets always roll the same. Keeps it balanced between low and high-level players.

They should call these 'Monthly Chores!' There isn't any questing in them. We've done all before, only now it is made monotonous and no fun with zero skill required

We haven't been able to beat an incursion map yet (beat hell, we don't make it 2 minutes past pressing G. Are we missing something here?). Which is the easiest one, so we can try again from the bottom?

No. Completing an Incursion on any difficulty racks up to the counter.

The pet stats are chosen by range and are completely random.
